Recently, Denis Brennan, member of the Procurement Team at Slaney Foods, was invited to speak at UCD, on how the Smart Grass project could have an effect, not only on Slaney Foods as one of Ireland’s beef processors, but also the Irish beef industry as a whole.  The Smart Grassland Project aims to increase the sustainability of Irish grassland farming even further.  Their aim is to allow farmers to produce high quality and high yielding forage in an even more sustainable way, than is already happening in the Irish beef sector. They are doing this, from a production, as well as, an environmental viewpoint with a focus on multi species grassland. Denis Brennan expressed his delight and commented, “if brought to the masses across the Irish Beef industry, Smart Grass could make a real impact on sustainable beef production in Ireland.”
