A few weeks ago, Bord Bia hosted twenty senior Chinese government officials for a two week study visit to Ireland as part of its ‘European Beef & Lamb – Excellence in Food Safety & Sustainability’ campaign.

The visiting group included delegates from the Chinese Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), Administration of Quality, Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).

As part of their Itinerary, the group visited Slaney Foods International where they had an excellent opportunity to see in practice the production of high quality, safe and sustainably produced Irish Beef.

This was followed by a visit to the farm of Terence McCann and his family, who run a top class beef enterprise which uses the best of agricultural practices to maximise production, efficiency and profitability.
